The character's name is Brigitte (after Brigitte Helm, who played the robot and Maria in Metropolis), Olympia (a mechanical doll in one of E.T.A. Hoffman's stories, later adapted for opera by Offenbach), Rossum (after the character in R. U. R., the play by Capek.)
